NexaScience Inc. is pleased to announce that it has completed a total of 61 million yen in funding to establish the foundational technology for AI business automation and implement an “Autonomous Science” platform that will automate all processes from R&D to intellectual property and commercialization. This pre-seed round was funded through J-KISS stock acquisition rights, with underwriters including a corporate venture capital (CVC) fund managed by a group company of Nagase & Co., Ltd., a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime, as well as individual investors such as Sachio Senbon, founder of Daini Denden Co., Ltd. (now KDDI), and Hideki Takeda (now Footlight Co., Ltd.), former CTO of FRONTEO Inc., a pioneer in natural language processing AI companies.
Purpose of procurement and use of funds
The funds will be used to invest in the following areas:
Enhanced functionality of “NexaPapers,” the demonstration and production version of the AI Agent-integrated Autonomous Research and Development Workflow ( AIRAS )
Accelerating development of “NexaPatents,” an autonomous intellectual property management service
Advances in orchestration AI as the foundation for industrial AI agents
Strengthening recruitment in the fields of research and development, engineering, BizDev, and sales
This will establish the foundational technology for AI to automate business processes, and advance the implementation of an “autonomous science” platform that will achieve seamless autonomy from research and development to intellectual property and commercialization.
