Hitachi is now the first Japanese company in NVIDIA’s Global System Integrator (GSI) Program. This move aims to meet the rising global demand for AI solutions. This partnership is a big step in expanding the companies’ work in operational technology (OT) and AI.
The collaboration began in March 2024 with a focus on generative AI. Both companies started efforts to create an AI Center of Excellence. They aim to advance “physical AI,” which means using AI in real-world applications. In September, Hitachi Rail launched the HMAX line of railway AI solutions. They developed it with NVIDIA.
Hitachi and NVIDIA are teaming up to create a roadmap. They will focus on AI-powered use cases and business solutions. These efforts will use advanced technologies like fast data processing and AI agents. This will help meet the changing needs of customers going through AI transformation.

The companies will work together to enter the market. They will offer AI solutions to help businesses in key growth areas like the United States and Japan. This will help them solve real-world challenges more efficiently. Hitachi wants to use the GSI framework to develop skilled experts in industrial control systems and important AI skills.
Key initiatives of the collaboration include:
- Accelerating AI Transformation Through Business Planning, Hitachi will formulate joint business plans and growth strategies aligned with NVIDIA’s product and solution roadmap for the industrial AI market. Platforms such as NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA Omniverse will be used to develop innovative AI applications. Hitachi Building Systems will use generative AI for building maintenance. They plan to integrate NVIDIA AI Blueprint for Video Search and Summarization. This system will learn from manuals and expert procedures. It will also analyze real-time footage from wearable cameras worn by field technicians. Then, it will provide guidance and alerts to improve safety and efficiency.
- Joint Market Entry Strategies The two companies will implement collaborative go-to-market initiatives, leveraging NVIDIA’s latest product knowledge, marketing programs, training sessions, and webinars. Hitachi will join NVIDIA’s main event, GTC. There, they will share success stories, showcase new solutions, and highlight customer-focused innovations.
- Workforce Training and Development Hitachi is training more than 50,000 “GenAI Professionals.” These experts will have advanced skills in generative AI. The company will add training programs that focus on practical skills. These programs will use NVIDIA technologies like DGX Cloud, NVIDIA AI, and エヌビディア Omniverse. This initiative seeks to build a strong group of OT and AI experts. They will be ready to lead in the industrial AI field.
This expanded partnership shows 日立 and NVIDIA’s strong commitment. They aim to speed up the use of advanced AI solutions in various industries. This will help drive real innovation in global markets.
