SparkPlus Inc., which tackles industrial challenges with AI, is pleased to announce that its AI agent “ORION,” which provides answers and suggestions by cross-sectionally analyzing all forms of internal data accumulated within the company, has been introduced as a platform for utilizing generated AI at Sanwa Kogyo Co., Ltd.
In this initiative, we will begin using ORION to reduce the burden and eliminate inefficiencies in information retrieval and document creation at Sanwa Kogyo, thereby creating an environment where employees can concentrate on the “manufacturing” work that they should be focusing on.
In the manufacturing sector, the transfer of expertise from skilled workers and improvement of productivity have become urgent issues, against the backdrop of a declining and aging population. The increase in “unstructured data,” including operational manuals, technical documents, reports, and charts, is creating a situation where the time it takes to find the necessary information is being squeezed, putting pressure on the time that should be focused on “manufacturing” activities such as design and production.

Sanwa Industries is an automotive parts manufacturer with a world-leading market share in vehicle piping products, employing approximately 8,000 people globally and operating in 17 countries. As productivity improvement becomes a key issue for continued growth, an internal survey revealed that a significant amount of time is being spent on information retrieval and document creation.
While the use of generative AI can be an effective solution, concerns remain regarding the risk of information leakage and the reliance on individual skills associated with using external AI services. Therefore, we decided to implement ORION as an AI platform that can achieve both robust security and the promotion of non-personalized utilization.
