Rohde & Schwarz Japan is expanding its partnership with IPG Automotive Japan. This move aims to boost innovation and efficiency in Japan’s automotive development. The improved teamwork shows a common goal: providing advanced testing solutions. These solutions help automakers and suppliers adjust to rapid changes in ADAS and self-driving tech.
Rohde & Schwarz Japan is the local branch of ローデ・シュワルツ. This global company has more than 90 years of experience. They focus on measurement, testing, and electronics solutions. IPG Automotive Japan is the partner of IPG Automotive. It is a leader in virtual test driving and vehicle system simulation in the Japanese market.
This new partnership lets both companies do hardware-in-the-loop testing for automotive radar systems. This testing helps with advanced driver assistance and self-driving cars. Now, it can happen right in development labs. Tests once done on proving grounds can now happen in labs. This change uses CarMaker simulation software from IPG Automotive and tools from Rohde & Schwarz.

These tools are:
- R&S AREG800A automotive radar echo generator
- R&S QAT100 advanced antenna array
- R&S RadEsT radar target simulator
This solution lets automakers and Tier 1 suppliers simulate complex ADAS and autonomous driving scenarios. It follows Euro NCAP standards and offers high realism and repeatability. Shifting evaluations from test tracks to the lab helps development teams. They can save time, cut costs, and speed up validation cycles. Plus, they don’t have to sacrifice accuracy or compliance.
Rohde & Schwarz Japan and IPG Automotive Japan are working together. Their goal is to give the Japanese automotive industry better testing environments. They will speed up development, improve quality, and boost competitiveness. This matters more as vehicles rely more on software and become autonomous.
