They will promote the construction of a sovereign cloud platform for medical use and the mutual utilization of medical AI solutions to accelerate data linkage.
具体的には 富士通 そして アイビーエム Japan’s electronic medical record solutions will be run on Fujitsu’s sovereign cloud platform, and data linkage and AI utilization across multiple medical institutions will be realized based on the needs of medical institutions. This will provide medical institutions with a cloud-based medical information system option that ensures sovereignty, allowing them to control the technology used within Japan, and aims to solve structural challenges facing the medical industry and create social value.
Background: Expanding medical demand and limitations in the delivery system
In Japan, the healthcare system is facing a rapidly aging population, leading to ever-increasing demand for medical care and massive annual medical expenses exceeding 48 trillion yen. However, the healthcare delivery system to meet this demand faces a complex set of challenges, including the sustainability of social security benefit funding, a decline in medical personnel, and financial difficulties for healthcare institutions. Furthermore, the data necessary for further developing advanced clinical research and development is still in the process of standardization and structuring, and its effective collaboration and utilization are far from being achieved.
