Startup studio SEREAL and venture capital firm Angel Round have entered a strategic partnership to strengthen support for what both companies describe as ‘solid ventures.’ Instead of following the traditional startup model that depends on continuous fundraising and rapid cash burn, solid ventures focus on building profitable businesses first and then using those earnings to develop new products and ventures over time.
The partnership brings together SEREAL’s experience in building startups and supporting product-market fit with Angel Round’s investment strategy, which is centered on profitable, sustainable businesses. As the first step, SEREAL has made an LP investment in Angel Round 1 LPS, laying the foundation for deeper collaboration.
Going forward, both organizations plan to create a broader support network for founders. This includes introducing startups to each other’s ecosystems based on funding and growth needs, while connecting entrepreneurs through SEREAL’s CoFounders community in Fukuoka and Angel Round’s founder network.

The companies also plan to co-host events where entrepreneurs can trade ideas, learn from seasoned operators, and sort of build ties with other founders, who are pursuing sustainable business models. They’re also looking into chances to make joint investments, combining capital support with more hands on guidance for their portfolio companies.
To mark the partnership, セレアル そして Angel Round have opened applications for founders interested in the solid venture model, including businesses seeking angel funding, companies working toward product-market fit, and entrepreneurs looking to connect with others building profitable, long-term ventures.
