Startale Group is pleased to announce that it has received an additional investment of approximately 2 billion yen from the Sony Innovation Fund. This investment will further deepen the partnership between the two companies.
This confirms Sony’s expectations that Startale will be a valuable partner in building the next generation of on-chain infrastructure at the intersection of entertainment, IP (intellectual property), and AI.
This partnership began with Sony’s investment of approximately 500 million yen in a seed round in September 2023, and has since expanded through the establishment of Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL), a joint venture to jointly develop the Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain “Soneium.”

Soneium is rapidly evolving as an entertainment-native blockchain platform. Since its mainnet launch in January 2025, Soneium has processed over 500 million transactions, has 5.4 million active wallets, and supports over 250 dApps (decentralized applications), establishing itself as one of the leading Layer 2 networks in the ecosystem.
Startale provides the Startale App and Startale USD (USDSC ) for the Soneium ecosystem , which combine wallet functionality, asset management, and seamless access to applications .
