Helpfeel Inc., which provides an “AI knowledge data platform” that strengthens corporate AI, has raised a total of 2.6 billion yen in the first close of its Series E round through a third-party allotment of new shares with investors Global Brain Corporation, SMBC Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd., and JP Investment Co., Ltd. This brings the total amount raised to 5.9 billion yen.
The funds raised this time will be used to fully deploy the “AI Knowledge Data Platform,” which improves the accuracy and reliability of AI, and to promote the development of multiple services, accelerating the utilization of corporate knowledge and improving competitiveness.
Background of fundraising
With the emergence of generative AI and large-scale language models (LLM), the implementation of AI in society is progressing rapidly, but one perspective that is often overlooked is “what basis AI uses to make decisions.” AI does not function on its own as a model or application; it requires reference information on what answers it draws, in other words, accurately organized knowledge data.

With generative AI and search-linked AI now being utilized both inside and outside of companies, knowledge data can truly be described as a company’s “information infrastructure.” However, it has been pointed out that Japanese companies are lagging behind their Western counterparts in the development of knowledge data. To enable generative AI to provide accurate responses and optimize the appearance of company information in search engines, it is necessary to structure internal knowledge and prepare it in a form that can be read by AI, but only a small number of companies are fully committed to this.
To date, Helpfeel has been implemented on over 700 websites, with 45% of contracts being with listed companies (including their groups), and has built up a solid track record, cultivating knowledge on knowledge utilization in a variety of industries through FAQs and knowledge sharing tools both inside and outside companies. Currently, the company is further developing this knowledge and taking on the challenge of building an “AI knowledge data platform” that will serve as the foundation for AI to function more accurately and powerfully.
This “AI knowledge data” is the foundation that supports the accuracy and reliability of AI, and is essential for companies to maintain their competitive edge. Helpfeel has raised new funds to leverage the knowledge it has cultivated to lead this field, which is expected to see significant growth in the future, and further promote the use of AI by Japanese companies.
