NEC Corporation, a leader in IT and network tech, has partnered with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). This partnership aims to help small-scale producers in Africa using advanced digital solutions. The collaboration will use advanced technologies like remote sensing and secure digital platforms. This will help support vulnerable farming communities.
The partnership was finalized today when a letter of intent was signed at the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development. The initiative seeks to boost farm productivity. It will also boost resilience against climate and economic shocks. Lastly, it aims to encourage adaptation to climate change. It will also create new economic opportunities. This will happen through solutions like CropScope. CropScope is NEC’s digital agricultural platform. It improves decision-making for farm management in IFAD’s investment portfolio.
