シャープ has added a new function to its meeting minutes creation support solution “eAssistant Minutes,” which utilizes its proprietary edge AI technology “CE-LLM,” that allows minutes to be created from recorded data. The updated version will be available from Friday, August 29th of this year.

“eAssistant Minutes” is a corporate solution that uses our proprietary edge AI technology, “CE-LLM,” to create meeting minutes without connecting to an external network. It instantly transcribes meeting conversations and generates summaries at set intervals. Because everything from transcription to speaker separation and summary generation is handled by the device’s built-in edge AI, it reduces the risk of information leaks via the network. Since its launch in March of this year, it has attracted a lot of interest from companies and local governments that handle confidential and personal information.

This time, we’ve added a feature that was requested by many customers: the ability to create meeting minutes from pre-recorded data. By importing recordings from meetings held on the go or past meetings into the device, you can easily create minutes without going through an external network. For a one-hour recording, transcription and summarization can be completed in about 10 minutes. It supports not only audio files but also video files, and there are no restrictions on the number of times or data volume.

In addition, the time it takes for transcription results to appear after speech has been roughly halved, and the accuracy of speech recognition has also improved. This reduces the loss of parts that were previously recognized as noise, such as short replies in quiet voices. Furthermore, the performance of the generative AI model has improved, resulting in improved accuracy and expressiveness of summaries. In addition to summarizing in more natural, smooth sentences, it also more accurately summarizes the flow of meetings and key points of what is being said.
