IVRy and Hyakujushi Bank use AI to tackle labor shortages

According to the results of a survey published by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2024, more than 60% of small and medium-sized enterprises responded that they were experiencing a labor shortage. Looking at the results by industry, 60-80% of respondents in many industries responded that the situation was either “very serious (business operations are being seriously affected, and there is a possibility of closure)” or “serious (business continuity may be hindered).”

Furthermore, according to the 2024 Demographic Survey published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the population of Kagawa Prefecture is expected to decrease by 8,202 people from the previous year to 948,585, making the region’s labor shortage even more serious.

Against this backdrop, amid growing interest in improving business efficiency and automation, through this business alliance, Hyakujushi Bank will introduce “Ivry” to small and medium-sized enterprises and respond to customer requests for improving business efficiency, thereby supporting management from various angles.
