NTT DATA INTELLILINK Corporation announced on the 24th that it has begun accepting contracts for IoT product ★1 (Level 1) conformance assessments for its “INTELLILINK Smart Device Diagnostic Service” as a JC-STAR verification business under the “Security Requirements Conformity Assessment and Labeling System (JC-STAR).” JC-STAR is a security assessment system for IoT products unique to Japan, promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA), and began operation in March 2025.
It sets four levels of conformance standards (★1 to ★4) according to the security level required for IoT products, and compliant products are given a label with a two-dimensional barcode to facilitate access to security information. JC-STAR ★1 is a standard that specifies the minimum security requirements commonly required for products, and IoT product vendors declare that they meet these requirements. NTT DATA INTELLILINK has been registered in the “Equipment Verification Services (recruitment begins in September 2023)” category of the “Information Security Service Standards Examination Registration System” established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and is now able to receive a JC-STAR ★1 rating as a JC-STAR verification business.
