NEC will begin offering an expanded version of its “NEC Digital Twin Solution: On-site Visualization and Analysis Service” in March of this year, utilizing its newly developed proprietary video analysis technology. This solution eliminates the need to film on-site work prior to implementation, as was previously required with similar services, enabling faster implementation and on-site optimization.
This solution is one of the digital twin solutions that utilizes NEC‘s unique video AI technology, which has been cultivated over many years, to automatically digitize various on-site phenomena using video recognition AI and reproduce them in a digital space.
In recent years, the impact of population decline has led to a serious labor shortage, particularly in logistics warehouses, manufacturing plants, and construction sites, resulting in an increasing need for labor-saving measures and improved operational efficiency. In response to this situation, there is a growing need for on-site management, such as analysis based on what is actually happening and what has happened (on-site facts) through the use of AI to visualize the site, as well as resource optimization and work efficiency improvements.

However, in order to utilize AI in accordance with the different environments of each worksite and the analytical needs of each customer, it is necessary to prepare video data in advance by capturing long periods of footage of the worksite with a camera, which entails the time and expense required.
