Cloudera, Inc., which provides the only true hybrid platform for data, analytics, and AI, announced that it has joined the AI -RAN Alliance, an international consortium aimed at integrating AI into telecommunications infrastructure. Cloudera joins a pioneering group of innovative telecommunications operators and data/AI companies focused on evolving telecommunications networks into intelligent, profitable platforms through real-time data and AI.
AI is providing new opportunities as telecommunications operators accelerate the adoption of virtualization and next-generation infrastructure and architectures to optimize network operational costs. AI can drive better business outcomes through network service efficiency while also opening up significant potential for service innovation. However, deploying AI across a distributed edge environment is not easy, and a strategic enterprise-wide effort to operationalize AI across the Radio Access Network (RAN) is essential for telecommunications operators to realize the full commercial potential of AI.
The AI-RAN Alliance, a founding member of NVIDIA and member of Dell, SoftBank, T-Mobile, KT, and LG U+, was established to address these challenges while driving innovation through the convergence of AI and communications. Alliance members are working together to standardize the integration of AI into existing and next-generation networks, share infrastructure for AI optimization, accelerate the development of edge AI applications, and establish proof-of-concept for the reliable and profitable adoption of AI.

Cloudera, a leader in enterprise AI and modern data architecture, complements the Alliance’s mission with scalable data management, unified orchestration from edge to AI, and an open source-first approach, making it uniquely positioned to deploy, manage and scale AI workloads across hybrid, edge and on-premise environments.
As part of the AI-RAN Alliance, Cloudera will:
The alliance will join the newly established “Data for AI-RAN” working group to drive standardization of data orchestration, network automation with LLMs (large-scale language models), and hybrid-enabled MLOps across telecom and AI workloads. Cloudera‘s participation brings data and AI platform expertise to the alliance, aligning data and AI pipelines with telecom operators’ operational needs to enable faster innovation and deployment of AI-native use cases.
It will help achieve the three core goals of the AI-RAN Alliance, including “AI-for-RAN,” “AI-and-RAN,” and “AI-on-RAN . ”
We will work with AI-RAN Alliance members to accelerate practical AI use cases for piloting and deploying AI applications such as SLA-based network availability and real-time anomaly detection, including building and validating reference architectures that operators can deploy in production environments, shortening the innovation-to-implementation process and maximizing model reusability and collaboration.
Leveraging its platform , the company enables real-time decision making at the edge, enabling scalable training data preparation and MLOps, and operationalizing AI inference at scale, while ensuring governance, observability, and consistent orchestration from edge to core.
