Kioxia Corporation has launched the CD9P Series. These are new PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs. They use Kioxia’s 8th generation BiCS FLASH™ and CBA (CMOS directly Bonded to Array) technology. Designed to meet the high throughput and low-latency demands of AI and high-performance computing (HPC), these SSDs aim to maximize GPU utilization in data-intensive environments.
The CD9P Series offers significant performance improvements over its predecessor, with up to 125% faster random writes and 30% faster random reads. Power efficiency has also doubled for random write operations, enhancing overall thermal management and reducing operational costs. Capacities reach up to 61.44TB in 2.5-inch form factors and 30.72TB in EDSFF E3.S, with both read-intensive and mixed-use endurance options available.
