Torch Corporation and ChromaJean Inc. are pleased to announce that they have entered into a business collaboration agreement with Nihon Waters K.K. to realize the automation of analytical and preparative processes using liquid chromatography.
Research and development has a long history of being performed by humans, and many of the experimental methods, experimental equipment, and measurement and analytical instruments are optimized for human work. To achieve effective lab automation, it is essential to optimize experimental methods, introduce equipment that can be easily linked with robots, and build a system that integrates them.
We have now entered into a business partnership to realize an ideal automation system for analytical and preparative processes using liquid chromatography.
As a leading company in lab automation using collaborative robots, we have an extensive track record of developing and implementing systems in a wide range of industries, including the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries, and are promoting the realization of “an environment where researchers can immerse themselves in their research.”
Starting July 1, 2024, we have begun collaborating with ChromaJean, which has its own software technology for analytical and preparative processes using liquid chromatography, to provide a fully automated platform that combines systematized analytical and preparative processes with our lab automation system. Our space-saving and highly flexible lab automation system can be built and deployed more quickly than large-scale automated equipment, and provides cost-effective automation while meeting the diverse needs of research sites.
Furthermore, the two companies have decided to further strengthen this business alliance by establishing a three-way collaborative structure that also includes Japan Waters, the largest manufacturer of liquid chromatography.
This will deepen collaboration with Nihon Waters equipment, maximize the benefits of systematization, and actively engage in adjustment and improvement of the equipment, further promoting the spread of the automated analysis and separation platform created through the collaboration between the three companies, thereby supporting the efficiency and innovation of research and development.
