HEROZ Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected for the open proposal for “Development of voice dialogue function for the AI suitcase*1 at the Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation” commissioned by the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
Plans are underway to develop functions for HEROZ, such as the ability to answer questions about facility information, provide destination and route guidance based on the user’s interests, and an AI function that uses image recognition by the camera to announce information about nearby buildings, roads, and pedestrians via voice.
1: An autonomous navigation robot that assists the movement of visually impaired people. Although it looks like a suitcase, it is equipped with a computer, sensors, motors, etc. inside, and can guide the user safely to their destination while avoiding people and obstacles.
■ Content and purpose of this project
This project aims to develop a voice dialogue system to be implemented in the “AI Suitcase,” a mobility support robot for visually impaired people, which is being researched and developed at the Miraikan, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (hereinafter “Miraikan”), which is run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency. In “Development of Voice Dialogue Functions for the Miraikan AI Suitcase,” we will develop dialogue system functions using large-scale language model (hereinafter “LLM”) services, aiming to achieve more natural and smooth communication with users.
To enable more natural and smooth interaction between the AI Suitcase and users, we will create a flexible and intuitive voice dialogue system using LLM, and aim to improve the navigation experience for visually impaired people visiting the 2025 World Expo (Osaka-Kansai Expo), where we plan to conduct a demonstration experiment of the AI Suitcase. This function allows users to use natural language to interact with the AI Suitcase’s smartphone app, ask various questions, and select and change destinations and tours. In addition, when selecting components, we will not only select a secure and stable platform, but also aim to build a system that can be used by people of all ages and genders, regardless of their gender.
