Tokyo’s Asuene Co., Ltd. is a top player in carbon accounting and sustainability management. They have acquired Iconic Air, Inc., a U.S. firm focused on GHG visualization and methane leak management SaaS. This is Asuene’s second acquisition in the U.S., after NZero. This move shows Asuene’s dedication to growing in the U.S. sustainability and climate tech market. It also improves its tech skills in tracking emissions and managing environmental data.
Asuene announced the final close of its Series C2 funding round. They raised a total of ¥11.5 billion so far, along with the acquisition. The round raised ¥780 million in new equity. Investors included JGC Mirai Investment, Sony Financial Ventures, and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, a current supporter. Also, ¥2.2 billion came from selling secondary shares.
