Things Inc., which is taking on the challenge of digital transformation in the engineering chain with the theme of “unearthing knowledge in the manufacturing industry”, is pleased to announce that it has raised funds totaling approximately 320 million yen through a third-party allotment of new shares. The funds raised will be used for product development and strengthening recruitment and organizational structures. This will further promote the visualization and sharing of technical information buried in manufacturing sites, and support quality improvement and skill transfer throughout the industry.
We were established in September 2021 and began developing “PRISM,” a product knowledge utilization cloud that can centralize and utilize technical information scattered throughout the company. Since the official release of the version in May 2023, as Japan’s first SaaS-native PLM, the number of companies adopting it has been steadily increasing, as it has been highly praised for its simple UI that even beginners can intuitively operate, and its flexible customizability that reduces implementation costs by more than half.
Meanwhile, the rapid advancement of generative AI is fundamentally reconsidering how data is used in the manufacturing industry. Unstructured data, such as drawings and document table-type reports, which were previously difficult to convert into databases, has suddenly attracted attention, and the definition and value of PLM systems, which are centered on CAD files and BOM management, are about to change dramatically. We believe that these changes are not a temporary trend, but a structural turning point that will encourage the reconstruction of information infrastructure at manufacturing sites.

We see this change in the environment as a great opportunity and have raised funds with the aim of accelerating product development and building a strong organizational structure that can withstand business expansion. In addition to engineers, we will strengthen the foundation of the entire organization, including sales and customer success (CS), and support the digging up and utilization of technical information using generative AI in more fields. In addition, we have partially renewed our service page in conjunction with this release, so please take a look.
