Rohde and Schwarz Japan is now working with Aetherlink, the deep tech startup trying to bring microwave wireless power transfer into the real world. The idea is simple. Rohde and Schwarz will open up its office as a test ground and back Aetherlink with its high frequency measurement know how. Both sides want to build new solutions by combining their strengths. The move also shows how seriously the company takes open innovation and its push to work with sharp venture players.

On the sustainability side, Rohde and Schwarz has already put Aetherlink’s AirPulg wireless power tech to use in its own workspace. Cutting out a lot of the wiring usually needed for temperature and humidity sensors has made the office cleaner and way more flexible. The company is also letting Aetherlink run demonstration experiments in real office conditions so they can gather environmental data from existing building spaces, which is key for their tech development. The whole setup creates a steady win win loop for both teams.
