MENTENA, a cloud-based factory management system provided by Yachiyo Solutions Co., Ltd., will begin offering a “Long-term Maintenance Plan (10-year calendar mode)” from spring 2026. This will allow users to view 10 years of maintenance plans at a glance, which can be used as a long-term maintenance plan (rating sheet).
In the manufacturing industry, medium- to long-term maintenance plans that include scheduled repairs, statutory inspections, and equipment renewals are becoming increasingly important from the perspective of business continuity, improving competitiveness, and responding to increasingly sophisticated safety and quality requirements. In fact, our company’s survey found that over 80% of companies have equipment in operation for more than 10 years since installation, and 20% have been using the same equipment for more than 40 years. Using equipment over the long term while carefully repairing and maintaining it can be said to be one of the strengths that Japanese manufacturing has cultivated.
The maintenance plans that support long-term operation have traditionally been managed mainly on paper or Excel, and have been supported by on-site experience and ingenuity.Going forward, even in an environment of declining birthrates and increasing labor mobility, it will be important for sustainable management to establish a system in which the knowledge of experienced workers can be passed on to the organization and everyone can work on equipment at the same level.

Facility management is not only a daily on-site task, but also a medium- to long-term decision-making process regarding how to maintain and update a company’s management assets. MENTENA has continued to develop functions that emphasize ease of use for both the field and management, so that work history related to facility management can be accumulated not just as a record, but as data that can be used for management decisions. The new functions being offered will provide new value by supporting customers over a longer time frame, allowing them to maintain and utilize their facilities as long-term management assets.
