Hexagon has completed the installation of its high precision measurement system, Presto Optium, at the MyAERO Associate Lab, within the Smart Manufacturing Institute at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Shah Alam Malaysia. The deployment was carried out with NAICO Malaysia as a partner and it is basically the next phase of a collaboration that started back in 2025.
The system is meant to bolster aerospace simulation, testing, and research abilities by offering advanced measurement and engineering analysis tools. As aerospace programs move into even more complex stages, the demand for stronger accuracy, dependable results and efficiency keeps growing. Presto Optium is expected to back activities from design verification through manufacturing process refinement, so development cycles can speed up and quality outputs can improve as well.
This project also underlines Malaysia’s expanding attention on industry-academia cooperation. By inserting industrial grade technology into a university research setup, the initiative tries to narrow the distance between what’s learned in class and what really happens with aerospace tasks. Students and researchers will get exposure to tools that are typically used in industry, while the MyAERO Associate Lab can widen its capacity for aerospace engineering and innovation.
