Off-Grid Lab Co., Ltd., a group company of Fibergate Co., Ltd., will act as an intermediary for the transfer of ownership and management services of high-voltage power receiving equipment (cubicles) provided by Energy Connect Co., Ltd., and will begin offering the service as “Cost Power Cube Up” from September 2026.
Background to the launch and our company’s objectives
Currently, approximately 65% (about 560,000 units) of cubicles installed in Japan have exceeded the recommended replacement period of 15 years, making aging a serious issue. Deterioration of equipment carries the risk of “cascading accidents” that cause power outages not only at the company’s own facilities but also in surrounding areas, potentially leading to substantial compensation claims and business suspension.

In addition, safety management mandated by the Electricity Business Act, expenses of several million yen due to unexpected repairs, and complicated contractor coordination are a significant burden for businesses.
Off-Grid Lab aims to eliminate these business risks through this service and promote “energy autonomy (local production for local consumption)” starting from power receiving equipment. Focusing on cubicle management, which is essential for power supply, we will provide end-to-end support for the introduction of solar power generation and storage batteries, accelerating the construction of a next-generation energy infrastructure rooted in the local community.
