Lea Bio Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a medical institution operated by Hoan My Group, Vietnam’s largest private medical network with 14 hospitals and 7 clinics across Vietnam, for the purpose of developing new services or continuing to use MEQUY, which is currently provided by Lea Bio.
In recent years, Vietnam’s medical needs have been rapidly increasing in line with its economic growth. However, a shortage of medical personnel such as doctors and nurses, and excessive workloads at medical treatment sites are serious issues. Particularly in emergency outpatient clinics and primary care settings, there is a need to accurately grasp patients’ conditions and make quick triage decisions within a limited time frame.
In response to this situation, Lea Bio’s new “MEQUY AI Triage” provides a system in which AI supports initial assessments based on information obtained from patients, such as symptoms and medical history, with the aim of reducing the burden on medical professionals and contributing to improving the quality of medical care.

Meanwhile, the medical institution operated by the Hoan My Group is the largest private medical group in Vietnam, operating numerous hospitals and clinics across the country. In addition to providing high-quality medical care, it is known as a cutting-edge medical institution that is proactively working to introduce digital health.
The two companies have agreed to a strategic partnership to explore practical solutions that utilize AI technology to address issues in Vietnam’s medical field, leading to the conclusion of this MOU.
The purpose of this partnership is to further evolve the “MEQUY” service that Lea Bio has been providing to medical institutions in Vietnam and to realize improved efficiency and quality of medical care through practical application in clinical settings in Vietnam.
Lea Bio was established in Japan in 2019 and established a Vietnamese subsidiary in 2022. With the mission of “delivering equal medical care to children around the world through information power,” the company promotes the development of technologies related to prevention, nutrition, and medical support, and has been working on digitalizing medical care in many areas, including elderly care, prevention of lifestyle-related diseases, and the construction of nutrition management systems in Vietnam.
Through this partnership, Lea Bio will work with Hoan My Group to conduct a proof of concept (PoC) for on-site implementation in emergency and internal medicine outpatients, where the AI will predict the urgency and likelihood of illness based on information such as symptoms and medical history obtained from patients, helping medical professionals make faster and more accurate decisions.
For the Hoan My Group, the introduction of AI to streamline and standardize medical processes is extremely important in order to sustainably provide high-quality medical services, and this partnership marks an important milestone in the digital health strategies of both companies.
Going forward, Lea Bio and Hoan My Group will jointly create innovative solutions using AI technology to address the challenges facing Vietnam’s medical field, and will promote progressive efforts with a view to future nationwide expansion and collaboration with medical policies.
