Fujitsu Limited and Acer Medical Inc., a leader in AI-driven medical imaging and preventive healthcare have entered into a strategic partnership to co-develop “aiGait,” an innovative solution that leverages Fujitsu’s advanced skeleton recognition AI to identify gait abnormalities. The initiative is designed to support early detection of dementia and Parkinson’s disease by providing healthcare professionals with quantifiable gait data.
The technology is part of “Fujitsu Kozuchi for Vision,” offered under the Fujitsu Uvance portfolio “AI Technologies and Solutions.” The agreement, formalized on June 25, 2025, includes an initial pilot at a daycare center affiliated with Taipei Veterans Hospital. During the trial, cameras will capture patients’ physical movements, such as walking, sitting, and standing, and compare them against movement patterns typical in dementia patients using Fujitsu’s AI capabilities.
Acer Medical will implement the aiGait solution in elderly care facilities in Taiwan by the end of 2025. The mobile-friendly system turns daily movement into useful clinical data. This helps caregivers and clinicians spot early signs of changes in mobility. The goal is to provide quick interventions and improve patient care outcomes. Acer Medical aims to provide smart, affordable healthcare to communities in need.

This initiative shows Fujitsu’s wider Uvance strategy. It creates ecosystems with “Uvance Partners.” Together, they co-create solutions using data and AI to tackle societal challenges. This partnership will help both companies speed up efforts to reduce gait problems and their link to neurodegenerative conditions.
Fujitsu and Acer Medical will also look into using this technology in other areas. They plan to explore sports science, pediatric neurodevelopmental assessment, and managing cerebral palsy.
