Plug and Play Japan Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to the Japan External Trade Organization to manage the Climate Tech Startup Germany Mission, etc., and will be implementing the “Climate Tech European Mission Program” this fiscal year.
Last year, we operated the “Deep Tech Germany Mission,” which focused on a wide range of innovative technologies tackling social and global challenges, and supported the European expansion of promising local startups. This year, we will specialize in “Climate Tech,” a field that Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama City, and Kawasaki City are focusing on. At a crossroads in energy policy, we will strongly support the European expansion and realization of actual businesses for local startups through a dispatch program to Germany, a leader in this field, and by inviting key European figures to Japan.
Program Overview
This program is a continuous support program for startups tackling climate change, seamlessly connecting pre-departure learning, travel to the region, and individual support after returning home. It will build a foothold for participating companies entering the European market, based on the following four pillars.
Market understanding, mindset development, and skill enhancement: Learn about German market characteristics and environmental regulations, cultivate the mindset necessary for global expansion, and improve skills such as pitching to investors.

Inviting European stakeholders to Japan: We invite key figures with whom we have built relationships in Germany to Japan and provide them with tours of demonstration sites within the prefecture, thereby maintaining those connections and strongly supporting the development of actual businesses.
