Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) launched the “DNP AI Staff Service.” This service helps local governments manage resident inquiries better. It works online and in virtual municipal spaces.
The AI-powered service will launch on June 17, 2025. It will be available on DNP’s “Metaverse Government Office” and local government websites. It uses DNP’s unique “Document Structured AI” to quickly sort and analyze data from various formats, such as websites, PDFs, and Excel. This means you don’t have to prepare data by hand. The AI Staff answers resident questions in a natural way. This helps lighten the load for government employees. Plus, it provides consistent service around the clock.
The service helps local governments with major issues. These include high inquiry volumes, low staffing during busy times, and uneven response quality. A trial in Edogawa Ward showed that the AI can help residents find accurate administrative information. This includes details about specific departments and contact points.

Additional features include multilingual support and specialized AI avatars capable of handling complex consultations. These capabilities make government services easier to access. They focus on non-Japanese speakers and residents with special needs. This change is part of a bigger trend. It reflects the digital transformation happening in the public sector.
