Sompo Group has signed a long term agreement with Guidewire to expand use of the Guidewire Cloud Platform across its global operations. The intent is clear. Standardize systems. Move from on premises to cloud. Strengthen decision making across regions and business lines.
Sompo has worked with Guidewire for over a decade. Several entities already run core operations on its applications. Now the shift becomes broader and more structural. Existing deployments of ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter in global commercial businesses will migrate to the cloud platform. The agreement also opens the door to wider use of AI powered capabilities and GenAI tools embedded in Guidewire’s platform.
In Japan, Sompo Direct Insurance, Inc. will adopt Policy Center, Billing Center, Jutro Digital Platform, and Data Studio as core systems for underwriting, policy administration, and billing across auto, homeowner, and earthquake products. Claim Center was already implemented on the cloud platform in 2024.

This move is about tightening operational control while scaling intelligence. One platform. Shared data. Broader AI integration. For a global insurer operating across markets, that is less about tech refresh and more about how faster decisions translate into profitable growth.
