My Number Wallet begins joint research with Shizuoka Financial Group on web3 business

My Number Wallet Inc., which provides the web3 wallet that utilizes the My Number Card, and Shizuoka Financial Group  have begun joint research aimed at facilitating societal acceptance of the web3 business. We would like to provide an overview of this research.

Our company is developing a web3 wallet and mini-app platform called “My Number Wallet” that utilizes My Number cards, with the mission of “creating a world where everyone can utilize digital assets without leaving anyone behind.”

To date, we have conducted proof-of-concept experiments for the management and settlement of digital assets using My Number cards, collaborated with cryptocurrency exchanges, and obtained certification from the competent minister for the Public Personal Identification Service (JPKI) in October 2025. We have been working on research and development and product development with the aim of providing cutting-edge technologies such as stablecoins, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and digital IDs as an infrastructure that anyone can use safely and securely.

Based on these efforts, we have decided to collaborate with Shizuoka Financial Group, a regional financial institution that strives to achieve both “social value creation” and “enhancement of corporate value” by solving issues facing the region and its customers. We believe this will help create an environment in which digital currencies and NFTs can circulate safely and securely in the region, leading to this joint research project.

Overview of the joint research

As the first step in the joint research, we will conduct experiments aimed at issuing digital currency on the Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain Base, developed by Coinbase, Inc. Based on the results, we will proceed with exploring ways to utilize it in the region and towards its practical application.

Future Outlook

Based on the knowledge gained from this demonstration, we will consider implementing a new payment and remittance service that connects regional finance with web3. In the future, we aim to create services that will revitalize regional economies, such as cashless payments at local stores, use as a regional currency, and even linkages with government services.

My Number Wallet will continue to deepen its collaboration with local financial institutions, government agencies, and private companies, and will continue to work towards realizing a safe, secure, and easy-to-use web3 society by combining blockchain technology with existing public infrastructure.
