Sansan Inc., a provider of digital transformation services that will change the way people work, is pleased to announce that it has begun offering a new feature, “Digital Invoice Option,” for its invoice management service, “Bill One.”
This function will enable users to receive “digital invoices” sent through the Peppol network on Bill One. Furthermore, by providing an environment where invoices can be processed using the same workflow as when receiving invoices by other methods or formats, such as email or post, we will reduce the burden on users and promote the use of digital invoices.
Peppol is an international standard for exchanging electronic documents such as invoices in a standardized format. Digital invoices compatible with Peppol have been adopted in over 30 countries, mainly in Europe, and in Japan, efforts to popularize the standard have been underway since 2022, led by the Digital Agency, and some companies have already begun to introduce it.
On the other hand, many companies still use paper invoices, and it is difficult to immediately switch all transactions to digital invoices. Therefore, for the time being, digital invoices are expected to coexist in addition to paper and email invoices. The diversification of invoice formats and the need to respond to different invoices will be a burden for those in charge and companies.

To reduce this burden and promote the use of digital invoices, Bill One has developed a function that allows companies to receive and process digital invoices while maintaining the same business flow as when receiving other invoices, such as paper or email.
In addition, receiving digital invoices requires a Peppol Access Point, which manages the safe reception of files. Since Peppol Access Points can only be provided by businesses certified by the Digital Agency, this function was made possible through collaboration with TKC Corporation, a Peppol Access Point provider.
