Pocketalk Corporation is pleased to announce that in collaboration with our capital and business partner Fujisoft Co., Ltd., we have introduced 200 sets of the AI interpreter “Pocketalk S2 (terminal)” business model and the management console “Pocketalk Analytics” to Osaka City. This is the first case in the country of the introduction of the AI interpreter “Pocketalk S2” using “Pocketalk Analytics” in a local government.
Osaka City, which has introduced the AI interpreter “POCKETALK S2” (business model) and management console “POCKETALK Analytics,” is a local government that is working toward digitalization that “leaves no one behind” so that everyone, including those who have difficulty using digital devices, those who are unsure of their Japanese language skills, and those with disabilities, can enjoy the benefits of digital technology. The background to the introduction of the “POCKETALK” series is the increasing importance of multilingual support. The number of foreign residents has increased by more than 50,000 over the three years from 2021 to 2024, and there is a need for smooth communication with citizens who have difficulty communicating in Japanese.
In light of this, it has been decided that 200 “POCKETALK S2” devices will be deployed in all ward offices (24 wards) in Osaka City. The aim of this deployment is to facilitate smoother multilingual support at the counter. Since the device handles important citizen information, security protection of the translated content is required, and the “POCKETALK S2” that will be deployed this time was adopted because it complies with global security standards and can ensure safety. In addition, the management console “POCKETALK Analytics” will also be introduced, which allows remote management of “POCKETALK S2” devices and aggregation and visualization of usage status on a web browser, thereby strengthening security measures and streamlining management operations.

POKETALK Corporation has set the mission of “eliminating language barriers” and has expanded the provision of the “POKETALK” series all over the world with the aim of creating a world where people can communicate in their own language and understand each other deeply even if they do not speak the other person’s language. In the future, we will further expand the introduction of our products to support “multilingual support”, which is becoming essential in Japan.
