Sorimachi Inc. and SoftBank Corp. will collaborate to utilize generative AI (artificial intelligence) and other technologies to support digital transformation (DX) for chambers of commerce and industry nationwide and their member small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses.
The two companies will equip Sorimachi’s cloud accounting software for chambers of commerce, “Chugoku Cloud,” with a generation AI function to improve the operational efficiency of the 1,643 chambers of commerce and their member businesses (790,000 members nationwide). In addition, SoftBank will sell these chambers of commerce and businesses devices such as smartphones and tablets, as well as various solutions centered on generation AI, to support the promotion of digital transformation.
In recent years, the business environment surrounding businesses has changed dramatically, with labor shortages and rising prices. Chambers of commerce that support these businesses are facing an increase in business management and loan consultations and accounting support, and improving business efficiency has become a challenge. Sorimachi provides the “Chamber of Commerce Cloud” to chambers of commerce nationwide through the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation. Chamber of commerce staff use the “Chamber of Commerce Cloud” for management analysis and accounting-related work for member businesses, supporting the strengthening of the management base of businesses that support the local economy. Under its “Beyond Carrier” strategy, SoftBank is going beyond the traditional scope of telecommunications carriers to focus on creating new businesses in a wide range of industrial fields and digital transformation in each industry. In addition, from fiscal 2022, it has positioned the strengthening of services for small and medium-sized enterprise customers as an important strategy for its corporate business. The two companies will combine Sorimachi‘s network with chambers of commerce nationwide and its support track record with SoftBank‘s technological capabilities and track record in digital transformation support to support the digitalization of businesses nationwide.
