Rohde & Schwarz launches the new vector network analyzer R&S ZNB3000, optimized for rapid start-up in mass production, building on its industry-leading measurement speed and reliability. Its scalable design allows for fast upscaling and easy adaptation to application-specific requirements. It combines the best dynamic range and output power in its class with future-proof performance to fully support next-generation technology development.
Rohde & Schwarz expands its vector network analyzer portfolio with the R&S ZNB3000, which combines best-in-class RF performance with high measurement accuracy and outstanding speed. The high throughput rate of the new vector network analyzer makes it ideal for rapid ramp-up in mass production environments, such as large-scale production of RF components. The innovative PCB-based frontend provides high stability and minimizes temperature drift, allowing reliable measurements over several days without the need for recalibration.
The R&S ZNB3000 covers the frequency range from 9 kHz to 4.5 GHz/9 GHz/20 GHz/26.5 GHz and is suitable for applications in industries such as communications, electronics and aerospace, as well as in digital high-speed printed circuit board and cable design.
The R&S ZNB3000 offers best-in-class dynamic range of up to 150 dB and outstanding trace noise of less than 0.0015 dB RMS. It also offers best-in-class output power of +11 dBm at 26.5 GHz, which allows for excellent compensation of setup losses. The analyzer’s segmented sweep function uses flexible IF bandwidth (IFBW) and power levels to quickly measure different parts of the filter structure. Filters can be tuned to meet the pass/fail line with a simple test.
The R&S ZNB3000 also features an easy frequency upgrade concept, allowing you to scale up quickly. It can also be expanded with an external switch matrix to perform multiport measurements up to 48 ports. Numerous software and hardware options are available to cover a wide range of applications.
The R&S ZNB3000 is a highly accurate measuring instrument that can be used both in the RF laboratory and on the production line. In either case, however, it is extremely important to know the actual uncertainty under the desired test conditions. Until now, only metrology laboratories were able to calculate the uncertainty of the S-parameter measurement results of a DUT. However, the R&S ZNB3000 can now do this calculation itself using the R&S ZNB3-K50(P) option, developed in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). The automatically calculated measurement uncertainty bands are displayed together with the S-parameters of the measurement.
“More than 70 years ago, Rohde & Schwarz developed its first network analyzer,” explains Michael Fischlein, vice president, Spectrum Network Analyzers/EMC & Antenna Testing at Rohde & Schwarz. “The expertise and technology we have built up since then has been applied to the development of our latest instrument, the R&S ZNB3000, and our commitment to speed, scalability and stability has now culminated in the new product. With the R&S ZNB3000, engineers can confidently master the complexities of next-generation technologies with precision, helping them achieve faster results in high-volume production.”
The compact size of both the 2-port and 4-port models provides ample bench space for your measurement applications, while the instrument’s energy-saving design and sophisticated cooling concept reduce noise levels and operational costs.
