Sharp will launch “eAssistant Minutes,” a meeting minutes creation support solution that utilizes its proprietary edge AI technology, for corporate use in mid-March of this year.
While many companies are working to streamline their operations, creating minutes for meetings and other events takes a certain amount of time, and the need to take notes while participating in the meeting places a burden on the creator, making it difficult to concentrate on the discussion. While transcription and summarization services using cloud AI are becoming more widespread, many companies are hesitant to introduce them due to security concerns about uploading meeting contents, which contain confidential information, to the cloud.
“eAssistant Minutes” uses our proprietary edge AI technology “CE-LLM” to automatically create minutes without connecting to an external network. The main unit is installed in a conference room or a business meeting room. When a meeting is held, it connects to a host computer with a dedicated application installed via the in-house network. When the meeting begins, the entire conversation is instantly transcribed and a summary is automatically generated every certain amount. Other participants can immediately check the transcript and summary content on the browser, as well as from the app on the host computer. It also has a speaker separation function. From “transcription” to “speaker separation” and “summary generation”, everything is processed by the edge AI installed in this unit, reducing the risk of information leakage via the network.

When the meeting ends, the transcription, summary data, and even the audio data are automatically saved only to the host computer, and the data in the unit is deleted. By simply clicking on the part of the transcribed text you want to listen to again in the application, you can easily listen to only the part you need.
