Cequence Security will launch its API Security Risk Assessment service in Japan on October 19, 2026, following a series of domestic data breaches and warnings from cybersecurity agencies.
The tool examines the actual traffic going through the APIs to discover any uncontrolled APIs, weaknesses in the authentication and access controls, and risks related to sensitive data exposure. Companies will be provided with the list of discovered APIs, risk assessment report, and remediation advice. The process usually takes four to six weeks.

The new product is introduced as the Japanese government encourages companies to check their API permissions and vulnerabilities. Japanese-language reports and support will also be available, with ongoing protection offered as a separate paid option.
