Linear Names Scott Pugh as Head of JAPAC

Linear has appointed Scott Pugh to lead its JAPAC operations as the company expands its presence across Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

Pugh shared that he has joined Linear to help build out the JAPAC region, bringing experience in scaling technology businesses across Asia Pacific. His new role will focus on developing the company’s regional operations and expanding its engagement with businesses adopting modern product development practices.

Linear is a product development platform used by software and technology teams to manage product planning, development and collaboration. The company has increasingly positioned its platform around the changing relationship between software developers and AI agents.

In his announcement, Pugh pointed to the growing use of Linear among AI-native companies and highlighted organizations including OpenAI, Anthropic, Sierra, Decagon, Legora, ElevenLabs, Harvey, Cursor and Together AI. He also noted that companies such as Coinbase and Salesforce are using Linear as modern product development approaches expand into larger organizations.

The JAPAC expansion comes as companies across the region continue to increase investment in software development, AI and digital products. For technology vendors, the region presents a diverse market spanning established enterprises, digital-native businesses and rapidly growing startups.

Pugh will work with Ben Light and Ben Cooper as Linear builds its JAPAC team. The company is also recruiting across sales, sales engineering and customer success in Singapore and Sydney.

The appointment signals Linear’s focus on establishing a stronger regional presence as software development teams increasingly adopt AI-assisted workflows and new approaches to product delivery.
