Linda Hamill-Mamo has started a new role at Workday as Vice President, People Partners Asia Pacific & Japan, marking a new leadership chapter for the HR executive.
Hamill-Mamo shared the news on LinkedIn saying that the job combines her background in resources, technology and artificial intelligence with her passion for employee experience. She also said thank you to colleagues and others who helped her during the hiring and welcome process.
In her job Hamill-Mamo will be part of Workday’s team that leads people operations in the Asia Pacific and Japan area. This role is coming at a time when human resources departments are being influenced more and more by progress in AI, workforce technology and new ideas about how employees want to be treated.
The place where human resources and technology meet has grown more important as companies look at how AI can be used in hiring, managing workers providing employee services and other people-related tasks. For leaders in resources, in the region this also means making sure that new technology is used in a way that fits the company culture and meets the needs of employees.
Hamill-Mamo’s career has included work across HR and technology-related areas, providing a background that connects people strategy with digital transformation. Her appointment adds another senior leader to Workday’s regional people organization as companies across APJ continue to navigate changes in workforce models and the growing role of AI.

Workday has increasingly positioned AI as part of the future of enterprise workforce management, while its broader platform covers areas including human capital management, finance and planning. The company’s own reporting has also highlighted employee connection and workplace experience as areas of focus across its global workforce.
Hamill-Mamo’s move therefore reflects a broader shift in enterprise HR leadership, where people strategy is increasingly being considered alongside technology adoption, AI and employee experience.
Her new APJ remit will place these themes within the context of one of Workday’s key international regions.
