Soka City Brings On-Premise Generative AI into Government Operations

Soka City in Saitama has started using FIXER’s on-premise generative AI service, Sovereign GaiXer, becoming the first municipality in Japan to adopt the system. The move addresses a common problem for local governments. They want to use generative AI, but cannot risk exposing personal or confidential information through public cloud services.

Sovereign GaiXer runs inside city hall in a closed environment, allowing staff to use AI with sensitive data. This could support tasks such as preparing meeting minutes, drafting internal rules and developing plans from confidential documents. The city sees the technology as part of its wider effort to improve administrative efficiency amid workforce shortages and eventually improve services for residents.
