LINE NEXT and GMO Media have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on expanding stablecoin services in Japan. The partnership will integrate LINE NEXT’s Unifi stablecoin wallet into GMO Media’s LINE mini apps, Easy Game Box by GMO and Everyday Quiz Box by GMO, with plans to introduce stablecoin-based rewards for users.
The move brings together LINE NEXT’s blockchain technology and GMO Media’s established user base to make stablecoins part of services people already use every day. LINE NEXT has been building its stablecoin ecosystem through Unifi, including the launch of Unifi mini in June 2026, a version designed specifically for the Japanese market. GMO Media, meanwhile, runs a collection of digital platforms across games, rewards, and learning services. That gives the partnership a wider reach into everyday consumers, kind of broadly.
One of the biggest bumps, for stablecoin adoption in Japan, has been the lack of real, practical and day to day use cases. Rather than asking users to seek out dedicated crypto platforms, the two companies are taking the opposite route by embedding stablecoin features into familiar digital experiences.

If rolled out as planned, users of the two LINE mini apps will be able to access stablecoin rewards through the integrated Unifi wallet. The initiative is expected to create a more accessible entry point for stablecoins while supporting the broader adoption of digital payment and reward ecosystems in Japan.
