Kotoba Technologies, a real time voice AI startup itself, managed to raise another 10 million dollars in a seed extension round, led by Kindred Ventures. There was participation from Salesforce Ventures, and also the Sony Innovation Fund.
That makes its total funding 23 million dollars, and it really supports its effort to build voice infrastructure for East Asian languages, you know, for better speech processing in general. Its Koto model supports real time speech to speech, ASR and TTS with low latency across Japanese Korean and Chinese.

It runs on cloud and on device, targeting AI agents, smart devices and translation systems. The company also released an alpha API and Python SDK to expand developer access and deployment. It is seeing rapid adoption in Asia markets.
