HPE has, more or less, unveiled the Compute Scale-up Server 3250. It’s a new kind of enterprise server meant for SAP HANA, ERP systems, financial platforms and other workloads, that demand a huge amount of memory and basically always-on uptime.
Inside, it’s driven by Intel Xeon 6 processors, and HPE claims the box can handle up to 64TB of DDR5 memory. That memory can be spread across 4 to 16 sockets. HPE also says this is the first scale-up server that’s been validated with a memory setup over 48TB on the SAP BW Edition on HANA benchmark.

This launch fits with a wider trend where organizations want to chew through larger datasets in memory, to get faster transactions, analytics, and smoother business operations. HPE is even framing the platform as a runway for upcoming AI workloads while still covering the classic mission-critical systems.
In terms of safety and reliability, the highlights include memory error correction, automatic fault handling, and chip-to-cloud protection via HPE’s iLO technology. The server is available right now, and it basically follows on from HPE’s earlier SAP-certified scale-up platform.
