STMicroelectronics and Leopard Imaging® have announced an all-in-one multimodal vision module for advanced robotic systems, such as humanoid robots. Combining ST’s imaging technology, 3D scene mapping, and motion detection capabilities with NVIDIA’s Holoscan Sensor Bridge technology, the module natively integrates with NVIDIA Jetson and the NVIDIA Isaac open platform for robot development. This simplifies the design of vision systems and shortens design time, even within the size, weight, and power constraints required for humanoid robots.
This new module, powered by the NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge, seamlessly integrates with NVIDIA Jetson via Ethernet, enabling real-time sensor data acquisition. It also integrates with NVIDIA Isaac, an open platform for robotics development that provides developers with open AI models, simulation frameworks, and libraries. The new module comprises a build system, application programming interfaces (APIs), artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms optimized for mobile robots, sample applications, domain randomization, and a simulation environment including sensor models.
ST will continue to be a leading partner of NVIDIA in the fields of robotics and edge AI, integrating ST’s sensors, drivers, actuators, controllers, and development tools with NVIDIA’s robotics development ecosystem, including high-fidelity models and proof-of-concept modules.
