Resetting a debit card PIN should not feel like a field trip to a branch.
Awa Bank is fixing that with a simple but important shift. By integrating Liquid Co., Ltd.’s LIQUID eKYC into its web application service, customers can now complete PIN re-registration fully online. No ATM. No branch visit. Just the app.
The core change sits in the adoption of an IC-based identity verification method. Instead of filling long forms, users can authenticate using ID chips and guided flows that adapt to their device and environment. That reduces manual input and cuts down drop-offs, which is where most digital processes usually fail.

This is less about ‘new tech’ and more about removing friction in a high-frequency banking task. And that matters. Because if something as basic as a PIN reset becomes seamless, it resets expectations for everything else.
Zoom out and the pattern is clear. Banks are shifting from partial digital journeys to fully closed-loop experiences. eKYC is no longer just for onboarding. It is becoming the backbone for everyday service actions.
This move does not scream disruption. But it quietly upgrades convenience where it actually counts.
