GMO Global EC, together with GMO MAKEShop, has launched Japan Finds byGMO, a cross-border e-commerce service that lets Japanese businesses list and sell products on major overseas marketplaces at no cost. The service is tightly integrated with makeshop byGMO and is positioned as a natural next step after domestic online sales, rather than a separate overseas operation.
The core idea is simple. Reduce the operational pain that keeps small and mid-sized sellers stuck in Japan. Japan Finds byGMO handles product listing, multilingual translation, payments, international shipping, and overseas customer support in one flow. Sellers continue using their existing domestic setup, ship orders to a local warehouse, and the rest is managed for them. The importance of this issue arises from the fact that Japanese domestic e-commerce development faces fundamental limitations, yet people continue to maintain interest in international online shopping. The primary obstacle has been the absence of knowledge people need for logistics and language and compliance. Early demand reflects that gap, with more than 200 businesses signing up during pre-registration.

The launch establishes a new direction for cross-border trade which uses platform-based systems to help businesses while SaaS companies handle operational challenges. The company intends to develop AI-based product optimization solutions which will help them enter new international markets while they maintain their current business model which treats international sales as an extension of their domestic operations.
