Motion Inc. has entered into a business partnership with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. In order to promote the electrification and spread of mobility in the six Tohoku prefectures and Niigata Prefecture in order to realize a carbon-free society, the company will integrate the “Optiev EV Shift Support Service” within “Harmmo,” a mobility solutions service provided by Tohoku Electric Power. The service will analyze the operating status of current company vehicles, and submit analysis/examination results in report format, such as whether to switch to EV vehicles, select the most suitable EV model, and propose whether to reduce the number of vehicles.
By partnering with Motion, Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., it will be able to support companies considering the introduction of EV vehicles, enabling it to make proposals that will increase the utilization rate of company cars while realizing a shift to EV vehicles.
As companies and local governments face increasing demand for electrification of company and official vehicles in an effort to realize a carbon-free society, the introduction of EVs poses unique challenges, such as selecting the optimal vehicle model and number of vehicles, locating charging facilities, the impact on business operations, and the need for operational know-how for EVs and chargers. It is also important to conduct an objective review based on driving data from existing vehicles.
