Keeper Security has released a new extension for Visual Studio Code. The extension brings enterprise secrets management straight into VS Code. Developers can now work without leaving their development environment. The solution will be the snippers that keep these secrets and objects and even in the forms of API’s and Tokens, HMACs, and other sensitive data that are stored and generated safely.
Secrecy is a big risk no matter whether it is readily viewable, concealed in a program, or communicated through unofficial means. All such vulnerabilities would be taken advantage of by cyber criminals to implant themselves and hence pilfer information from systems. The Keeper extension eliminates this threat completely. It helps programmers to manage confidential information and still be in the vicinity of VS Code. Besides, it allows operation in either Commander CLI mode or Secrets Manager mode. Groups are free to select the option that best suits their infrastructure and corporate policy.
The extension can also detect secrets hidden in code. Developers can inject secrets securely and execute commands safely. There are logging and debug tools for transparency and better management. By keeping everything inside VS Code, the extension reduces accidental exposure. It supports zero trust and least privilege practices.
