Dentsu Institute of Research Inc., which realizes the evolution of companies and society through technology, has developed and begun full-scale operation of a proprietary AI agent that semi-automates the upstream process of system development using generative AI. This system performs requirements definition, basic design, and architecture design tasks in system development based on dialogue with project members.
A test of this AI agent conducted in June 2025 showed a 30% improvement in productivity in the requirements definition and basic design processes compared to conventional methods. This will allow project members to focus on higher-value-added tasks such as formulating system strategies and communicating and building consensus with customers. Dentsu Institute plans to introduce this AI agent to all new development projects by 2027.
As the needs of society and customers change rapidly, system development sites are required to speed up the entire development process and improve the quality of deliverables. In traditional upstream processes, the cost of ensuring completeness and consistency of requirements is high, making efficiency a challenge. Dentsu Institute has developed an in-house AI agent that supports processes from requirements definition to basic design in order to achieve high-quality system development in a short period of time.
