Goodpatch Inc., a design company that drives corporate transformation with customer experience as its starting point, has acquired Layermate Inc., a new company that inherits the Layermate business, an AI design tool developed by Rera Inc., as a subsidiary.
In addition, Goodpatch has launched a specialized AI organization, “Gp-AX Studio (Goodpatch AI Experience Studio),” to strengthen the Goodpatch Group’s business foundation in the “design x AI” field, promoting problem-solving and new value creation through AI-driven design.
The rapid spread and evolution of generative AI has brought about major changes to the design environment. Even non-designers can now easily create creative work, and designers are being asked to deliver higher quality and speed than ever before. It is also becoming essential for designers to utilize AI to maximize their creativity.

Layermate is a Japanese-made AI design tool that can automatically generate UI designs through dialogue with generative AI. Since its release in May 2025, it has attracted attention from designers and engineers involved in the development of digital products.
Goodpatch has leveraged its strengths in UI/UX design to serve as a design partner for a variety of companies, supporting them in business model design, organizational design, brand experience design, service design, digital product development, etc. We believe that by combining the knowledge we have gained through this track record with cutting-edge AI design tools and bringing about further evolution, we can more powerfully support corporate transformation driven by customer experience, which is why we decided to make Layermate a subsidiary.
Goodpatch has also established a specialized AI organization, “Gp-AX Studio,” to strengthen its “Design x AI” initiatives. Through these efforts, the company will realize its vision of “moving the world forward with designs that move the heart” by promoting problem-solving and new value creation using AI.
