At BoxWorks 2025 in San Francisco, Box revealed new AI tools. These tools will change how businesses manage and secure unstructured data. The launch features two key offerings: Box Automate and Box Shield Pro. Box Automate helps automate workflows using agents. Box Shield Pro improves security by automatically classifying confidential documents based on their context.
Box Automate will enter beta in January 2026 for the Enterprise Advanced plan. It will let multiple AI agents work together on business processes. This feature helps organizations simplify complex workflows. Box Shield Pro will launch in December as an add-on. It offers automated content classification, AI-driven threat alerts, and better ransomware detection. These features aim to lower data exposure risks.

These innovations highlight Box’s wider Intelligent Content Management (ICM) strategy. It aims to organize the vast 90% of unstructured enterprise data. This makes the data usable by AI agents. CEO Aaron Levie noted that moving from AI as an assistant to AI as an independent agent can boost productivity significantly. This move could make Box a key player in shifting to AI-first operations.
