Fortinet®, a global leader in cybersecurity and a driving force behind the convergence of networking and security, announced significant enhancements and expansions to its FortiCloud global cloud infrastructure . This release includes two beta services: FortiIdentity, which hybrid organizations can use for cloud-based identity management, and FortiDrive and FortiConnect, which provide enterprise-grade secure storage and communications security. These services are tightly integrated with the Fortinet Security Fabric, delivering native security capabilities that replace point products that are often used ad hoc as an additional layer of security.
Integrated innovation supported by a global infrastructure
The announced services leverage Fortinet’s ongoing investments in its global hybrid cloud infrastructure, including company-owned data centers in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Plano, Frankfurt, Sydney, and Torrija (Spain). These data centers are strategically designed to meet regional demands by combining compute, storage, recovery, and security capabilities to deliver low-latency services. The globally distributed infrastructure also enables organizations to address increasingly stringent data sovereignty requirements by enabling them to store data locally.
These investments, combined with over 160 Points of Presence (POPs) offered through service providers such as Google Cloud, AWS, and Digital Realty, enable Fortinet to deliver secure, high-performance edge services. Additionally, a wide range of services are available in cloud marketplaces such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, enabling organizations to seamlessly access Fortinet’s cloud-delivered security, regardless of their location, with increased service resiliency and geographic flexibility.

FortiCloud: A native security service optimized for modern enterprises leveraging cutting-edge IT
These expansions further our strategy of providing a unified platform that helps organizations consolidate their tools, improve their security posture, and reduce their total cost of ownership. The FortiCloud services portfolio adds three new security native services designed for the modern hybrid worker:
FortiIdentity: Fortinet’s long-established Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution is delivered through FortiCloud, providing a feature-rich, cloud-native approach essential for secure identity management, especially for large enterprises. FortiIdentity enables secure single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), FIDO2 passkey, and identity federation between FortiIdentity and third-party applications, without the need for additional hardware or software. Support for FortiToken Mobile, FIDO2 passkey, and SAML/OIDC standards simplifies identity management and easily scales to meet the requirements of large enterprises and MSSPs. Adding FortiPAM-as-a-Service as a module to FortiIdentity enables continuous zero trust network access (ZTNA) checks required to protect privileged access to IT environments.
FortiDrive: FortiDrive is a secure file storage and collaboration solution that protects data at rest and in motion. Advanced encryption and granular access controls enable organizations to safely store and manage content. Real-time collaboration capabilities allow users to collaboratively edit and share files and folders with colleagues and business partners. Built-in version history accurately tracks changes and makes it easy to roll back if necessary. Site management features allow users to organize content by team or project, and enforce policy-based compliance with role-based access control and the principle of least privilege.
FortiConnect: FortiConnect is a unified communications platform that works seamlessly with FortiDrive to enable secure calling, messaging, conferencing, and file sharing from anywhere. It provides an intuitive collaboration experience powered by AI-powered threat intelligence from FortiGuard Labs, ensuring communications are protected from evolving cyber threats.
All three services are natively integrated with the Fortinet Security Fabric, providing centralized visibility, consistent policy enforcement, and real-time threat protection across users, devices, applications, data, and AI agents.
Continued investment on a global scale
Fortinet‘s continued investment in global cloud infrastructure advances its platform strategy and commitment to providing strong security while ensuring the best application experience for customers wherever they are. The addition of our hybrid cloud model to the new POPs allows customers to access a wide range of services, including FortiSASE, FortiAppSec, FortiCNAPP, FortiSOC, FortiMail, and FortiAIOps, from a centralized FortiCloud portal.
Integrated and scalable security delivered through the FortiCloud platform
These new services, delivered through FortiCloud, demonstrate our commitment to simplifying and securing hybrid operations with an integrated, cloud-native platform. With its unified platform approach, centralized policy enforcement, and AI-powered threat intelligence, FortiCloud helps organizations reduce operational complexity while optimizing costs, improving visibility, and protecting data and users in distributed environments. Whether securing access, applications, or infrastructure, FortiCloud continues to drive security transformation by making cloud security simpler, more cost-effective, and natively integrated with the enterprise.
